Organic pork is – among other things due to being free range – a distinct alternative to standard pork. In studies into boar taint in organic pork the (higher) percentage of boars with boar taint seems to create a considerable hindrance to market opportunities. In Denmark success has recently been booked with organically raised boars. The Danes concluded that boar taint can be reduced by providing the right feed regime in the right combination.
Aarhus University has also studied boar taint in organic pig farming. For further information on the Danish studies (English) http://www.icrofs.org/Pages/Research/organicrdd_nocast.html and http://orgprints.org/24681/13/24681.pdf
