On June 25, 2013 the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (Bundesministerium für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Verbraucherschutz) organizes a symposium in Berlin on stopping the castration of piglets without anesthesia.
From 2019, the castration of piglets without anesthesia is no longer allowed in Germany. Alternatives are therefore becoming increasingly important. Solutions are being sought through economics, science and politics. Therefore the Ministry organizes on 25 June 2013 in Berlin a symposium on stopping the castration of piglets without anesthesia. During this event practical experiences and scientific findings will be presented. The information exchange between business, science, policy makers and representatives of animal welfare organizations provides solutions for the entire pork chain.
